The serviced apartments in Hamburg’s City Nord office park have gone into operation. This listed building has been extensively renovated and now impresses with its mix of tradition and modernity.
Hamburg, May 9, 2018: Hotel operator Bierwirth & Kluth is today opening the doors of its new Hamburg apartment block. This means the first guests will be welcomed just in time for the Hamburg Port Anniversary celebrations. Initially on four floors, guests can expect four-star apartments with modern furnishings that are perfect for longer stays.
Overall, my4walls comprises 143 apartments on 12 stories, which will be completed and opened successively over the coming weeks. The team of 20 staff under General Manager Miriam Ziemer is ready for action and is looking forward to the period ahead. They got to work before the opening, organizing the rooms and communal areas, which means that they already know each other and the apartment building very well. Miriam Ziemer explains: “We work in an equal partnership at my4walls. Team spirit is just as important as the relevant expertise. Every individual is involved in making a contribution towards the project’s completion. We are all really looking forward to welcoming the first guests and to making their stay unforgettable.”
The apartments, available in sizes S to XL, offer living space of 26 to 39 square meters. The facilities unite design with function. This includes open-plan kitchens, floor-level showers, 1960s retro-style furniture and a flexible TV and workstation. Some of the highlights of the serviced apartment block include a cozy lounge with pool table and a cook & meet area with a cutting-edge kitchen for preparing meals together. The culinary treats available include a breakfast buffet, a range of evening meals and a bar. With a large gym, laundry room and a self-storage area, the services available mean that guests will feel right at home, even if they stay for a longer period of time. The facility also includes a 24-hour reception and 143 parking spaces divided between an underground garage and an outdoor parking lot.

my4walls serviced apartments is owned by Munich-based Isaria Wohnbau AG, which carried out the regeneration of the listed building that covers almost 8,900 square meters of usable space. While the architectural style of the first building in the City Nord district remained unchanged, the technical features now meet the very latest standards, including triple glazing and sun louvers. The renovation also included new elevators and an overhaul of all of the technical equipment in the building. Among the listed elements that remain intact are the stairwells, an archive in the basement and the wood paneling, floors and a clock on the first floor remain intact.
